Eating nutritious foods will do the whole world of good for your immune system. A healthy diet is essentially a happy diet, your body needs a specific amount of calories to stay healthy and junk food is a no-go area for sure. Embrace fruit and vegetables like never before, they are packed full of wonderful vitamins and minerals which are important for having healthy vitality and bodily maintenance.
Now, a diet cannot just be fruit and vegetables, indulge in those wholesome foods! From wheat and oats to beans, brown rice and bread. These types of foods all give you the right carbohydrates for slow releasing energy - you will feel better for changing your diet in small ways.
Exercise
Doing regular exercise will improve your general health and fitness, which in correlation will improve your immune system and protect your wellness. The fitter someone is, the easier they will find it to fight off infections and diseases. Also, You'll have more white blood cells from improved fitness and this means you will have a better response fighting both serious illnesses aswell as all ailments affecting the body.
An ideal fitness goal is to do something which will get you out of breath for at least 20 minutes a few times a week - any effort though is better than no effort though!
Relaxing
After a hard day it is important to give yourself a break - it's time to relax and rejuvenate. Help yourself replenish by having a meal with adequate nutrition like I mentioned earlier, also filling up on extra protein is a good idea as this will help your muscles recover quicker to start working again.
Sleeping is also a very important aspect of keeping your immune system as it's best. Sleeping in a regular pattern is essential because it is the quality of sleep we have, not the quantity. For example sleeping 6 hours one night then 10 hours the next night to make up for what you missed out on would not be as effective as sleeping 8 hours repeatedly.
Stress
In today's world stress affects millions of people but chronic stress can cause serious destruction to our immune system.
Do your best to work on some relaxation or breathing techniques such as five minutes of deep breathing when you feel stressed. You will feel better for doing it. It's small techniques like this which will gradually relieve stress.
Always remember to give yourself a break or a quick time out from the things which seem to stress you. This break will give your immune system time to repair.
Social Activity
Time to laugh out loud! Your immune system likes it when you get out and mingle. People who nurture the value of camaraderie and social support always recover quicker than those who prefer to stay in bed and not do anything. This is purely down to the fact that the enjoyment of social activity will make you feel better, and someone who feels better is naturally going to repair faster!
